About the Site
Dakota Blue Resource first began in November 2006. I had just read The Golden Compass and was very interested in the movie and Dakota, who had just been announced as Lyra. When the first pictures and bits of information surfaced, I decided to create a small fansite so others who were searching for information on Dakota could easily find what they were looking for. I got hosted by Skyefairy.net, and by the time the site opened, there were only around 5 pics and barely any info on Dakota other than her name and which auditions she attended for The Golden Compass. My friend Siobhan began helping me with the site, and more info and pics steadily came in. Unfortunately Siobhan didn't have the time to continue working on the site, so I've kept it myself since then. As of November 2007, the site is already over a year old, features over 2,000 pictures and handfuls of info on Dakota, and has become very popular for Dakota fans with over 60,000 hits - before her first movie has even been released!
