Dakota is nominated at the Saturn Awards for 'Best Performance by a Younger Actor' for her performance in The Golden Compass. She is up against Alex Etel (The Water Horse), Freddie Highmore (August Rush), Josh Hutcherson (Bridge to Terabithia), Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), and Rhiannon Leigh Wryn (The Last Mimzy). | Dakota has been nominated for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actress at the 29th Annual Young Artist Awards for her performance as Lyra in The Golden Compass. Dakota is up against Gracie Bednarczyk (Grace is Gone), Abigail Breslin (No Reservations), Isamar Gonzales (Chop Shop), Kay Panabaker (Moondance Alexander), AnnaSophia Robb (Bridge to Terabithia), Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew), and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement). Dakota Blue Richards has said she is not sure if there will be a sequel to The Golden Compass. The film was based on the first book in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy but the actress said she had not been informed of any plans to adapt the remaining two. The movie, starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, did not perform as well as expected in the US, although it was a hit in Europe. The 13-year-old, who played the lead role of Lyra Belacqua, told Teletext: "I think they are going to see how it does when it opens in Japan. Dakota attended the London Film Critics Awards as well as a cocktail party held in honor of the awards. She was showcasing super cute outfits at both!
